In February 1996, Puan Nazli joined Percon Corporation Sdn Bhd (Percon) as the General Manager (Corporate Services). At Percon, she was tasked to put in place a financial and corporate restructuring scheme for Percon. The job encompasses enhancing, strengthening and developing Percon's competitive position in the field of engineering and construction and at the same, developed the corporate direction of Percon. At group level, Puan Nazli represented Percon's interests in various subsidiaries and associate companies ranging from road concession to property development, both locally and abroad. Puan Nazli left Percon in July 2002 and she is not attached to any particular company at present.

Following the retirement of Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr Haji Zainul Ariff bin Haji Hussain as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Gamuda Berhad (Gamuda) at the 39th Annual General Meeting of Gamuda held on 7 December 2015, the Board of Directors of Gamuda had on 7 March 2016, appointed Puan Nazli binti Mohd Khir Johari as the new Independent Non-Executive Director of Gamuda.
Concurrently, Puan Nazli binti Mohd Khir Johari has also been appointed as a member of the Audit Committee and Nomination Committee of Gamuda respectively, on 7 March 2016.
