PRESS STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE ("MOF") DATED 26 OCTOBER 2018 ENTITLED "CONSTRUCTION COST (EXCLUDING INTEREST DURING CONSTRUCTION) FOR MASS RAIL TRANSIT SUNGAI BULOH-SERDANG-PUTRAJAYA LINE (MRT2) HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY REDUCED BY RM8.82 BILLION OR 22.4% FROM RM39.35 BILLION TO RM30.53 BILLION" ("PRESS STATEMENT")
Reference is made to the announcement made by Gamuda Berhad (Company No. 29579-T) (“Gamuda” or “Company”) on 8 October 2018 and the Press Statement by MOF.
Gamuda would like to inform that MOF has vide their Press Statement stated that the decision to terminate MMC Gamuda KVMRT (T) Sdn Bhd (Company No. 934628-H), a 50% joint venture company between Gamuda and MMC Corporation Berhad (Company No. 30245-H) (“MMC Gamuda”), has now been rescinded by the Cabinet and the Cabinet has accepted MMC Gamuda’s new offer wherein the entire remaining works (for both above ground and underground) shall be carried out on a turnkey contract basis for an agreed lump sum construction cost of RM30.53 billion.
