- SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT TO THE PROJECT DELIVERY PARTNER (PDP) AGREEMENT AND NOVATION AGREEMENT
References are made to the announcements made by Gamuda Berhad [Company Registration No. 197601003632 (29579-T)] (“Gamuda” or “Company”) on 29 October 2014, 13 July 2015, 31 March 2016, 8 October 2018, 26 October 2018 and the Press Statement by the Ministry of Finance (“MoF”) dated 26 October 2018.
In formalisation of the role as Turnkey Contractor, Gamuda would like to inform that the following two agreements were executed with Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd [Company Registration No. 201001019176 (902884-V)] (“MRT Corp”) by its 50% joint venture companies with MMC Corporation Berhad [Company Registration No. 197601004261 (30245-H)] (“MMC”) on 17 January 2020:-
1. A Supplemental Agreement to the PDP Agreement between MMC Gamuda KVMRT (PDP SSP) Sdn Bhd [Company Registration No. 201401040947 (1117100-V)] (“PDP SSP”) and MRT Corp; and
2. A Novation Agreement between PDP SSP, MMC Gamuda KVMRT (T) Sdn Bhd [Company Registration No. 201101006491 (934628-H)] and MRT Corp.
The execution of the aforesaid agreements is, among others, to formalise the role of PDP SSP to deliver and be responsible for the design, execution and completion of the entire KVMRT SSP Line (for both above ground and underground) on a turnkey basis.
The execution of the aforesaid agreements is not expected to have any material effect on the earnings, net assets and gearing of Gamuda Group for the financial year ending 31 July 2020.
None of the directors or major shareholders of Gamuda or persons connected with them have any interest, direct or indirect, in the execution of the aforesaid agreements.
